Be All In for Public Health Care.

With election day coming soon, everyone in Canada needs to be All In for Public Health Care. Canada’s public health care system was built on the promise that no one should be left behind. For generations, we have fought to ensure that every person – no matter their income, their job or where they come from – can receive the care they need. Today, that promise is under threat. Underfunding and private sector influence are threatening the future of our universal system. We need to reinforce our public model so patients come before profits. We need candidates seeking office in the next election to understand the stakes. And we need your voice to let them know.

Issues and solutions

What's at stake this election

Learn about the most pressing challenges facing Canada’s public health care system – such as nurse staffing, access and affordability to prescription medications and long-term care – and see how they impact communities across the country.

The nursing shortage

Nurses are the backbone of Canada’s public health system. Yet chronic understaffing, excessive overtime and burnout are pushing too many skilled nurses out of the profession. Without enough nurses, patients face longer wait times and reduced quality of care.

Privatization of health care

The emergence of private health care has drained public budgets, inflated costs and undermined staffing in the public system. If left unchecked, privatization will continue to weaken our public health care system and place profit over patient care.

Access and affordability

Canada’s public health care is founded on the principle that everyone deserves timely high-quality care – no matter their income or where they live. Yet many Canadians still face barriers to care, from long wait times to sky-high prescription costs. Addressing these gaps ensures that our health system remains truly universal and that no one is left behind.

Unsafe long-term care

Long-term care is supposed to help those with chronic conditions live with dignity, safety and quality support. But Canada’s long-term care homes are under severe pressure – chronic underfunding, staffing shortages and inadequate oversight have led to gaps in care. Strengthening long-term care means investing in safe staffing levels, improved living conditions and a public system that prioritizes residents’ well-being over profit.
